There is also a cabin known as Mr. Dionysis cabin.
The 'log cabin' is the environmentally friendly version of local folk architecture, made entirely from natural materials and especially wood, palm leaves, reeds ("kalamies"in the local dialect) assembled with nails and rope. The lighting is natural from the sun or the moon accordingly and has a makeshift bed-seat, where Mr. Dionisis relaxes overlooking the sea or taking a nap in the coolness of the sea breeze.
The islanders, especially in the old days, used to make 'log cabins' in their farms, where they kept their tools. They also used them as a place for a short rest from the daily labor of farm work. |
