ACCOMMODATION
The charming Villa Mare is set in wonderful landscape surrounded by greenery and olive trees and next to a heavenly sandy beach which has private access from the gardens.
The villa measures 120sqm, consists of three bedrooms and is suitable for six persons with air-conditioning. The traditional style and interior décor adds to the authenticity of this beautiful house.
The ground floor has spacious furnished verandas, one double bedroom, bathroom with shower, furnished living room with TV, fully equipped kitchen with breakfast bar, fridge, full size oven, microwave, kettle, toaster and all appliances and utensils necessary to make you feel at home.
The first floor consists of two bedrooms, one with double bed and the other with two single beds and bathroom with shower. |

LOCATION
The traditional unspoilt village of Agios Sostis is one of Zante’s best kept secrets, hidden in the beautiful countryside on the south coast of the island. It is one of the most scenic areas of the island with its sandy beach that shelves gently into the sea.
There are traditional tavernas serving local cuisine just waiting to be discovered. From the coast there are beautiful views over the uninhabited island of Marathonisi where the famous caretta-caretta loggerhead turtles come to nest.
The surrounding countryside exudes the natural beauty of Greece and is ideal for interesting walks. |

National Marine Park
The bay where Villa Mare is situated is part of the National Marine Park of Zakynthos.
Zakynthos’ Marine Park is located along the southern coast from Marathia’s Cape to the beach of Gerakas, and includes the beaches of Limni Kerì, Laganas and Kalamaki.
The National Marine Park was founded in 1999 with the main purpose of defending the particular fauna of the southern part of the island and of its integration with the local society.
The most important animal specimen to protect are the endangered turtles Caretta-Caretta and the critically endangered Mediterranean Seals Monachus-Monachus.
The turtles can be seen in all the areas of the Park and every year they come back to the sandy beaches south of Zakynthos to breed whereas the seals are usually seen around the bay of Laganas but they prefer the numerous caves of the western coast of the island. |
